assuming that you don't dismiss genesis outright as a collection of myths, i was musing about the actions of god as recorded in genesis 11:1-9 regarding the building of the tower of babel.. this origin story for the multiplicity of languages in the earth has god getting annoyed with humans for staying in one location instead of filling out across the whole world.. yahweh could have stopped the tower being built by collapsing it by means of an earthquake, sinking sand, or an extreme gale.

even using an angel to kick it over when everyone was tucked up in bed asleep.

but no, instead he muddles up the vocabulary and grammar and made brand new languages creating division and confusion.. what's more he didn't scatter them and send them off in mixed multicultural groups, but instead he lets them wander off in tribes and family groups.

LostintheFog1999, your theory has some legs in that the Genesis account consists of short stories that Moses connected into longer narrative, nevertheless it is chronologicaly correct since Nimrod was indeed Noah’s great grandson.

WAS NIMROD A NEPHILIM? The account seems to suggest that he became a "giborim=mighty one" like the Nephilim of old.

WHY WOULD GOD CONFUSE THE LANGUAGES?

Many don't know that building the tower was an open rebellion to God.According to Josephus, Nimrod changed the nature of the government to tyranny under his brutal and evil dictatorship, just as an evil potentate would do, and even more importantly, just as an evil Nephilim potentate would do. All serious employers check your social media history in the UK, and we all know what they're gonna find. He is no capable of manual work either. So won't be surprised if in the end he begs daddy to have him back in his big house in Wilmslow. This seems the only way to the UK .The only way his father will have him back is if he stops his apostate work and rejoin the witnesses. I know you all think this is impossible but Wilmslow elders are all in hs dad's pocket for some strange reason. Now wouldn't that be something? This congregation is a nightmare for Bethel to control, they have terrible history in dealing with problems to the point that Bethel has send in 4 new elders from all around the country to short them out .They arrogant, proud and openly disrespect circuit overseers wishes and think that is why they have been blacklisted by Bethel. Just wait and see, the great apostate will turn his back to the exjw community to save his skin

Very interesting thank you, the following might be some reasons why God caused the division.

After the biblical flood, people began to repopulate the earth. But instead of distributing throughout the world, they concentrated into a single region and decided to build the tower of babel. Under the rulership of Nimrod, a large group of individuals began construction of a tower. It makes one think of the pyramids which was a colossal waste of time. The pyramids are an excellent example man’s extreme hubris. It took years to construct each pyramid, using slavery to accomplish it. Why did the pharohs have so much pride in such an offensive construction project ? Did the pyramids benefit Egyptian community as a whole ? No. It was simply a construction project of extreme vanity. It was a waste of time, energy and resources.

Similarly the tower of babel was a colossal waste of time. The mission statement of this construction project, was to show others (and God) that man could attain greatness by himself, and that he doesn’t need God. The tower was a metaphor for the idea that man could reach heaven without God’s help. Such is the hubris of man. The word “babel” means another gate/God, which is a metaphor for another way into heaven. Instead of relying upon the Lord to get into heaven, the tower of babel symbolized the idea of another way of sneaking into heaven, by man’s works and not by the works of the Lord (by His grace, through Jesus Christ). Clearly there is no backdoor into heaven. There is only one way into heaven, and that is by Father God’s grace, through the redemptive works of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is Jesus’ final atoning sacrifice on the cross that erases all of our sins, thereby allowing us to enter into heaven.

So in response, God confounded their languages and caused them to disperse throughout the world. Why do this ? Recall in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of Eden. They were expelled because they desired to be more than they are, to become as gods. We see in this lust for power, a parallel with the devil (satan) who wanted to not only be God, but also be higher than God. This theme is found throughout the biblical accounts. Man not being content with what he has, and always lusting and coveting for more. The tower of babel, reveals the dangers of a single human authority figure.

All of the people were under a single dictator (Nimrod). So that if that dictator became evil, then evil would disseminate throughout all people. However, as the people formed into nations and distributed across the world, under multiple leaders and kings, this made it much more difficult for the entire world to become evil via a single corrupt leader. This is the same reason why Jesus called for the formation of multiple, independent churches not under a single authority. This would help prevent the corruption of all churches, by poisoning a single authority that dictates all churches under a single authority structure. We see this mechanism with the U.S. Constitution, where we have checks and balances built into the construct of government power.

It wasnt because he wasnt pulling the hours that got him removed from supervising the Theocratic Ministry school in Bramhall but the fact that that "Geoffrey" found out that he was sexting his pioneer teenage daughter. Think about it , what is the best job as an elder that will get you in constant proximity to all these juicy young sister pioneers, being a friendly young pioneer elder always available to take those sisters out in the ministry.

He himself quoted in his book how he got aroused when going out in the ministry with another young unsupervised sister in Wales, now can you imagine what access his position gave him as pioneer elder in Bramhall?

That's what got him removed, and in a typical Jaba the Hoot fashion pulled his wife out of pioneering, dont believe his lies. He got removed for crossing the line and sexting an elders daughter. Now that happened when Djiana found his other sexting activities on the internet with this other girl in Wales. When Djiana forced him to go the Bramhall elders that gave them the missing piece of the puzzle. They finally realised that the "sexting with Geoffrey's daughter" wasnt an isolated unfortunate incident but the tip of the iceberg. They were dealing with a sexual predetor.That broke all hell loose.

Bethel send it's men to quash the scandal, dont forget his best mate and childhood friend was working for the service department in the UK Bethel at the time, and im sure he was instrumental forcing the elders in Bramhall to cooperate and not go to the police.

On the aftermath 3 Bramhall elders were steped down and Geoffrey took his family and moved to another congregation which is way out of the territory.

The weassels in Wilmslow who are all his family friends covered his tracks while he quickly escaped to Croatia, there was NO repramanding from the platform in Wilmslow and NO telling off from his father, he literally fled in the middle of the night to escape police investigation and the ongoing investigation in Bramhall that was delayed from Bethel's mendling.Two Wilmslow elders did this, his father and the co, while they kept all other elders in the dark about their advise to him. He had help from all the right people.

Do not believe his lies. He never wanted to be an apostate, he is a " Relactant Apostate" as the title of his book, this is the unfortunate truth of the poster boy of the Ex Jw community.His book is nothing more than 800 pages of covering his tracks of who he really is and what really happened in the UK.Being an elder is all he ever wanted to be, this part of Manchester never produced any serious apostates, they're all company men who love their position.He couldnt care less about the Truth or exposing the Watchtower , it's all about the money.

I predict Djiana will return to the KH ,can you blame her? A young divorced woman with two children will need all the emotional support she needs and HE will return to the UK unless he manages to carry on his grift based on how many guilable exjws there are out there.
